Short answer

On wipe day, upgrade in the order that protects loot and controls upkeep: core security first, then doors, then honeycomb, then comfort and expansion. Overbuilding too early can create upkeep pressure.

PriorityUpgradeReason
1Secure core and TCProtect ownership and early loot.
2Door pathDoors are common early raid targets.
3Key walls/honeycombProtect most likely raid side.
4Storage and workbench areaImprove function after security.
5ExpansionOnly after upkeep is manageable.

Checklist

  • Do not expand faster than you can upkeep.
  • Prioritize the loot path over decorative space.
  • Recalculate weekly upkeep after every major upgrade.
  • Keep one emergency upkeep day.

Example

A small secure core with a manageable upkeep target is often better than a larger base that becomes expensive before you can defend it.

Common mistakes

  • Building a large footprint before farming upkeep.
  • Leaving weak doors on an upgraded core.
  • Forgetting to add upkeep after upgrading walls.
