Rust explosive ammo door path

When explosive ammo makes sense for a door path and when rockets or C4 are safer.

Use calculator Get raid prep pack

Short answer

Explosive ammo is attractive when the path is short, the shooting angle is safe, and sulfur efficiency matters. It becomes risky when the raid is loud, exposed, or likely to attract counters before you finish.

DoorExplosive ammo estimateRisk note
Sheet Metal Door63Efficient if you can shoot safely.
Garage DoorAbout 150Longer exposure; watch counters.
Armored Door200Often too slow under pressure.

Checklist

  • Confirm the angle is safe before starting.
  • Bring enough ammo for one extra door.
  • Decide when to swap to faster boom.
  • Do not tunnel vision while shooting.

Example

Explosive ammo can be fine for one sheet door. For several garage doors, the time risk can make rockets or C4 more practical.

Common mistakes

  • Using explosive ammo in a high-traffic area.
  • Standing exposed while shooting.
  • Forgetting ammo/gun durability and counters.
